NOTICE: Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act, (ACA), Public Law 111-148. As a result of this law, children will be eligible for health coverage under their parent’s “Self and Family” enrollment up to age 26.
Due to this new regulation: Effective the first day of the plan year, SAMBA will terminate our Dependent Health Benefit Plan (DHBP).
Enrollment under the DHBP remains open until the end of year 2010 – at which time we expect to transfer any child enrolled under the DHBP (up to age 26) over to your "family coverage" FEHB plan. However, details of how the changes will be implemented are still being developed.
If your child is enrolled under our DHBP, you will receive a letter from SAMBA before Open Season outlining the steps necessary to enroll your child (up to age 26) under your FEHB coverage.
