What´s New for 2008

Here are some highlights of changes to the SAMBA Plans. Refer to the 2008 SAMBA Health Benefit Plan brochure for more information.

• New Provider Network - Starting January 1, 2008, SAMBA members will have access to the CIGNA Shared Administration PPO Network nationwide. CIGNA´s expansive provider network means that your doctor most likely already participates. Click here to search for providers. Click here to learn more about CIGNA Healthcare.

 

• 100% Lab Coverage for All Members - The Quest Lab Program (formerly the Lab Savings Program) is now available nationwide. This voluntary program pays 100% of covered laboratory services when Quest Diagnostics® performs the testing and bills SAMBA directly.

 

• Hearing benefits for children - The Plan now covers screenings, testing, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment by licensed hearing professionals for dependent children up to the age of 22, under the Plan’s Hearing services benefit. This benefit includes hearing aids.

 

• Enhanced benefits for routine immunizations for adults - The calendar year deductible no longer applies when services are rendered by a PPO provider.

 

• Enhanced benefits for outpatient hospital care - The calendar year deductible no longer applies when services are rendered at a participating PPO hospital.
