Open Enrollment Period Underway for Select Agencies
April 1 – 30, 2019
An Open Enrollment for the Employee Benevolent Fund (EBF) is currently underway for the
United States Secret Service (USSS) and the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB).
This open enrollment is applicable to ALL permanent full-time and permanent part-time employees who are actively at
work and who have not previously enrolled or want to increase their coverage.

Following the death of a federal employee, weeks or months can pass before survivor benefits can be paid.
SAMBA’s Employee Benevolent Fund will pay an immediate benefit to your designated beneficiary.
Only employees of select federal agencies are eligible to enroll.
- Available only to active employees during open enrollment periods or within 60 days of entry on duty.
- Death benefit paid within 24 hours following agency notification.
- Coverage cannot be denied due to your age or health.
- May convert to an individual policy without proof of insurability upon retirement, resignation, or transfer to another agency.
Choose from two coverage levels:
- $17,500 – $39 annually
- $35,000 – $78 annually
